Preparing for the feces

In order to improve the accuracy of the analysis result, you need to follow the following rules of preparation:

Feces is collected in the morning. 3-4 days prior to stool analysis, the use of laxatives (including castor oil and petroleum jelly), sorbents (activated carbon) and rectal suppositories is stopped. The sample must be obtained naturally. It is forbidden to use any laxatives and enemas. Before collecting feces, pre-urinate into the toilet and flush it. If the feces are collected in the evening, it is allowed to be stored in the refrigerator at temperature 2-8 ° C overnight.

To identify worms and their eggs, it is necessary to pass several samples, that is, to collect feces several times (usually 2-3 times with an interval of 1-2 days).

For the study of feces for carbohydrates, feces are collected necessarily completely. Do not use diapers and other absorbent materials. Freshly collected feces must be quickly delivered to the laboratory. If necessary, it can be frozen and stored in this form for up to 3 days.
